Sleeping habits and bad teeth…
Over the past week or so, I’ve been having a hard time sleeping. I’ve been dozing off while laying in bed working on the Karna Records stuff only to wake up a few hours later, confused, disoriented as to the time and unable to fall back asleep. So I stay up and watch T.V. Lot’s of reality shows and new upcoming music videos of new rappers and the Jonas Brothers. I consider it market research. [p.s. I’m addicted to Rock of Love 2 and it got all the way down to the final elimination and my Tivo cut out, so I don’t know who actually won.] I have to be honest, even though Ambre seems to be the healthier match, my heart goes out to Daisy, yes, she’s childish and a bitch somewhat deep down still blue from her past, but what can I say I always like to see the underdogs get out ahead. Ambre’s great, pretty, smart, secure, but honestly I can’t help but think she’s too perfect so I automatically hate her….plus, I don’t like the way she spells her name…It’s like me spelling my name “Stacee” yes I am a hater.
I wanna know what makes the youth tick today, with Karna, I guess you could say that we are planning some big things. I’ll be working with new talent, different from the typical singer songwriter genre. I love the artists we’re going to be working with but for different reasons. I’m excited at the prospects of music videos, awesome tours and big venues. A very different kind of show and feel shows for the masses.
I spent quite a few dates with Colbie Caillat this last year on tour, I loved the excitement of a big show. Sadly, in a big show environment there’s a certain intimacy that you lose with your audience. It really is an entirely different kind of show. It has me wonder if the usual singer/songwriter types understand what big success brings. Sure it brings financial solvency but you lose that connection. There are a few that I don’t think would really want that. Hard to say, paychecks are amazing. No longer having to nickel and dime your way across the country could be a rewarding experience. Although, having said that I am a glutton for a secret show, small and intimate, one where at the end of the set I can hug my favorite artists and really let them see how into the music I am, and not just a fame junky.
On a side note, rappers that get their teeth altered with platinum and diamonds, all I think is that they have bad teeth. Does anyone get off on that? I was at a club once with a pretty famous black [can I say that?] athlete. It was his birthday, we were partying it up, champagne pouring, down south, I was the only white girl which was a bit weird. I was already pretty much in for the different factor but seriously. After about 2 hours it was time for him to again, sing himself happy birthday, it was such an all about him experience and needless to say it lasted for 4 days. Anyway, back to 2 hours in, he sings happy birthday and then starts ripping up money and throwing down to the crowd of anticipating adorers. GROSS, feed some starving kids for Christ’s sake. My friend in his defense says he donates, has all these foundations…I say, he should have used that money he tore up to buy some class.
All for now, Stacy
